Woman WOODEN SPOON CLUB
Holiday for the cook  RUTH MORGAN prescribes a tonic that kitchen weary Wooden Spooners will really enjoy taking!
HERE it comes Whitsuntide, the first real holiday of the summer. And with it comes the promise of many more summer weekends, precious days when we can get out and about. If you're the cook in your household, then make a resolution to give yourself a holiday as well. Go picnicking with easily prepared food. Or, if unexpected guests turn up, don't panic and disappear into the kitchen for hours. Fix them a jiffy quick dish and enjoy their company. Lay in a few tins and packet mixes. They can come in very useful at this time of the year and help you make the most of your summer leisure. Here are some bright picnic ideas and suggestions for easily prepared dishes, including a reader’s winning recipe. And remember, Wooden Spooners it's a dull cook who never gets away from that kitchen stove!
