Make a Splash! Whether you're bonny or bony, tiny or trim,  Veronica Scott puts you smartly in the swim
This summer we'll all turn into beach belles, thanks to the galaxy of new swim suits that have more to their name than just glamour. Designers have realized that very few of us have model measurements and they’ve obligingly produced a wonderful crop of bathing costumes that can and will, correct slight figure detects.
Here are the most important tricks to remember when you set out to choose your new swim suit.
If you’re very slim and bony, keep away from sleek figure-hugging styles. Choose one with a broad halter attached to top centre of the" bodice", it’ll cover up salt cellars.

Go for a gay, patterned cotton in light colours, ruched at the sides and back, to add fullness and hide bony bits.
Does your bustline need help? Many costumes have their bra section in double fabric, topped with a pretty cuff for extra emphasis. But if your on the top heavy side, choose a lightly-boned costume in a firm fabric for support.
Large hips and thick thighs will dwindle in a fullish bloomer suit. To look smaller than you are, keep to dark colours and dull-surfaced fabrics; a shiny material emphasizes curves because of the way it reflects light.

Gay and figure flattering, this costume is made in a mixture of dull elastic fabric through the body, crisp glazed cotton for bloomer and bra sections.
