They met last October at one of the Wilsons' week-ends.
On the Sunday, Ruth Wilson suggested a walk. Four of them walked across Brown's Meadow, through the beech woods, now dappled with gold, round Hangman's Comer to the Bull Inn. Here David Wilson led them to the seventeenth-century bar. "What will you drink, Anne?" he asked. "Mackeson, thank you David," said Anne. Tim couldn't contain his surprise that this slender girl should ask for stout. Later he questioned her. "When did you start calling for Mackeson? I always think stout's rather bitter."
Anne dimpled. "Mackeson isn't, Tim," she said. "It's lovely! Just try one," Tim did. And he found that this genial stout was very much to his liking. Smooth, yet strong. Reviving, too!
That weekend walk was the first of many. Tim and Anne are married now. And Anne always keeps Mackeson in the house!
Tim will always remember that autumn week-end when he and Anne first met. She was the one who persuaded him. to try Mackeson. And now that they're married Tim looks forward to the Mackeson they have together every evening. He finds it is better, not bitter!
"MACKESON !" smooth, yet strong
Mackeson is a strong stout. Yet a Mackeson has a unique smoothness. And every bottle of Mackeson comes to you in perfect condition; whenever, wherever you drink it.

Tim had to agree Ane knew about stout!Anne was charming. But, perhaps because he was so good looking, Tim was shy.
