· Left: The harness dress with a covering jacket. Simplicity Printed Pattern 3543, in sizes 12 to 20, 35 cents.

Because we made this in organdie we added an extra layer to the jacket (two and a half yards more than the pattern requires); we also added the white collar and cuffs (one and one-eighth yards), in both cases using thirty-nine inch material. The pattern and the Wamsutta organdie, at Bloomingdale; William H. Block; Woodward and Lothrop. The enamel daisy earrings, by Sandor. Bur-Mil Cameo sandalfoot stockings, in their "Jubilant" shade. Beshar rug. The table, by Doni Donovan. Wamsutta organdie curtains Lucien Lelong's beautiful, bright new "Spring and Summer" lipstick.

· Right: The halter dress in two fabrics, a square, string-tied top in a black textured sheer cotton, built on to a bias skirt in a black, white and magenta tissue plaid. Simplicity Printed Pattern 3557 in sizes 11 to 18, 35 cents.

The pattern and the Bates fabrics, at Bloomingdale; Woodward and Lothrop. Hanes seamless nylon stockings. Julianelli sandals.
