I can't tell Stork from butter
Jove, this is good, Mary ! Really got something this Stork! I just can't tell.
I can, it’s easier to cream! to cream!
PREPARING A STORK RECIPE BOOK
Every year over a million copies of new Stork recipe books are given away to housewives allover the country.
As you can imagine, a great deal of work goes into preparing these cookery books, and in the photograph you can see some of the original recipes being timed and tested in the Stork Kitchens.
To begin with, new ideas for recipes are created by the Head of the Stork Kitchens. Then each recipe is carefully made up more than once, to make sure it is absolutely accurate. Different types of cookers are used to make sure a recipe is tested under the conditions which you-the housewife are likely to encounter.
After that the finished dishes are photographed and artists draw illustrations for the booklet. Then it is ready for the printers.
There is always a great deal of excitement in the kitchens when yet another recipe book is ready! These books are sent out to housewives (many write in to ask for them) and are given away at demonstrations, exhibitions, and at places where the Stork Demonstration Van appears.
The latest Stork recipe book is called "Feeding the Family". If you haven't had a copy already, we would love to send you one, so why not write to us at the address below?
